behind the mirror

reaching out to pull me under
beyond the tricks of time
the waves of hurt and pain and shame
taking my breath

i am courage

i am peace

i am the feathered wings’ embrace

i am the earth providing
the seeds for nourishment and protection

i am the garden

i am love
